Winter is coming and if you are the owner of a modular building without the luxury of central heating you are probably starting to consider how you are going to keep your modular building warm throughout the cold months. Luckily for you today we are here to provide you with a few great heating solutions for portable buildings.

Here goes:

Insulation – Ensure that your portable building is insulated as greatly as possible, insulating the floor with foam insulation boards, insulating the walls and ceiling with rockwool or fibreglass rolls and add elements such as thick rugs, heavy curtains and draft excluders.

Heating – There are many suitable heating solutions available for portable buildings and the one that is best for you depends on a number of factors including your budget, the effectiveness of your insulation and the size of your building. The six most popular options however are as follows:

  • Electric radiators – Electric radiators come in different varieties with the most popular being water-filled and wall-mounted and oil-filled and floor-standing. Both of these are easy to operate with relatively low running costs. They do not require installation and are very affordable.
  • Electric fan heaters – Electrics fan heaters are cheap and easy to use, providing instant heat. Just plug them in, turn them on and hot air starts flowing. These heaters use a lot of energy and are therefore sparingly. If you are only looking for a quick fix you will be blown away by the power of fan heaters.
  • Halogen heaters – Portable halogen heaters cost slightly more than some heating solutions but are highly durable, super energy efficient and last but not least, cheaper to run! These heaters are available in a wide range of styles and designs.
  • Underfloor heating – Underfloor heating is perfect for small portable buildings and portable buildings with not a lot of floor. Installation costs can be quite high so occasionally some people choose to only use this heating in certain zones of their outdoor buildings.

It isn’t too later to get yourself a portable building either there are plenty of portable buildings for sale across the UK to take advantage of. If you are looking for extra space to allow you and your family to live more comfortably this winter, you should definitely start looking for a high-quality modular building today.
